Salary £15,510 per annum
PhD Studentship offered by The MRC Prion Unit, a leading research centre at University College London Institute of Neurology. The Unit studies prion, dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases and has highly multidisciplinary research programmes from basic molecular and cellular biology through to clinical therapeutics based. The Unit is directed by Professor John Collinge; the project supervisor is Professor Parmjit Jat.
We wish to appoint a highly-motivated and enthusiastic student who possesses, or is expected to gain, a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology or a related discipline. The aim of this project is to delineate the regions of the PrP molecule required for efficient propagation of mouse prions.
