Division of Epidemiology, Public Health and Primary Care

One 1 + 3 PhD Studentship is available commencing October 2009

The Division of Epidemiology, Public Health and Primary Care is seeking highly motivated applicants, with a degree in a relevant discipline, for a 1 plus 3 year PhD programme in either the Department of Epidemiology & Public Health; Infectious Disease Epidemiology or Primary Care & Social Medicine.

The studentship is funded by the Division for either a one–year MSc in Modern Epidemiology or a Masters in Public Health (MPH) followed by a three-year PhD programme. Progress to the PhD is subject to performance. The studentships include full payment of Home/EU fees and an enhanced stipend of £17,000. Owing to funding restrictions applications from non-Home/EU candidates cannot be considered for this post.

The Division currently has a strong doctoral programme with over 60 PhD students carrying out research in the areas of Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Chronic Disease Epidemiology, Primary Care and Health Services Research.
