A PhD Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) is available in Dept of Computing associated with successful ARC project DP11100628. The dominating trend of modern cryptography is the demand for rigorous proofs of both strengths and weaknesses of its protocols. Recent research has demonstrated potential theoretical advantages for lattice-based cryptography over classical public key schemes. The aim of this project is to further explore and improve the theoretical foundations of these techniques as well as their practical applicability. The value of this scholarship is AUD22860 (per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.
