Ph.D. student with a university degree in physics, mathematics, computer science or a related field. Computer programming skills are required; experience in medical image processing techniques is preferred.

You will be working in the Image Registration group of the Image Sciences Institute as part of a joint project with Biomedical Engineering (Erasmus MC) on integrating 3D ultrasound into electrophysiology for supporting ablation procedures. Your specific research goal will be fusion of intra-procedural 3D ultrasound images, registration or alignment of these images with pre-procedurally acquired MR or CT, and fusion with electro-anatomical surface mapping.
