2 PhD Students in Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks

University of Twente Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS)

Job description
Projects description:
The iLAND project aims to provide a deterministic middleware harness for applications that have strong needs for reconfiguration and compositional flexibility, while preserving non-functional guarantees such as timely communication and execution. iLAND focuses on dependable applications, in the sense that users can rely on their correct behaviour. In the scope of this project, correct refers to timely and available results. The Dutch partners have chosen public transport as their application area. Application examples are: the intelligent bus stop, passenger infotainment and wireless sensor network data collection and transport (data muleing).
The FREE project aims at developing energy management mechanism that operates on a wireless mesh network taking in consideration all its levels: from individual device to the network as a whole. Particularly, when individual devices employ energy scavenging technologies, estimates of the amount of available energy need to be made available to the energy management module.
