The excellence initiative of the German state and federal governments has approved the funding of the Cluster of Excellence EXC 310 Simulation Technology (SimTech) at Universität Stuttgart (www.simtech.uni-stuttgart.de). In this context, the newly established Stuttgart Research Centre for Simulation Technology (SRC SimTech) is asking for applications for a
PhD Student position in the field of scenario analysis
to pursue research in future-orientated research fields.
The PhD student is expected to develop sociopolitical scenarios as an input into environmental simulations. The research consists of an assessment of scenario analysis as a tool to integrate social system analysis and natural science analysis, the development of improved scenario methods, and the preparation of case studies.
We are looking for a postgraduate student with a background in social sciences or economics. Experiences either in scenario analysis or in the modelling of social systems are favourable. The position with the designated salary bracket 50% TV-L 13 has a limited tenure of two years with a possible extension. The post is located at the Institute for Social Science, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. O.
