Job description
PhD Transition in integrated health care delivery
This project is aimed at:
1. Designing process approaches of integrated assisted living centers
Evaluating and reflecting on the institutional barriers to develop new partnerships to develop assisted living centers.
Design of demand-oriented approach for assisted living centers
2. Developing a learning community of practice
Method
An action research model is chosen. The interaction between the practitioner and the researcher is important to get a better understanding of the problems faced by the practitioners. Lessons are context-specific and the experiments are part of a broader strategic agenda of various organizations, a.o. Carint.
The experiments dot not have a clear end-goal but are aimed at generating lessons for the specific problems arising in several cases. The research results will support the decision-making process in those cases and therefore adapt a development or design paradigm.
Besides generating lessons and designing solutions in the cases the project is also aimed at generating lessons in order to develop a sustainable societal change. Developing an organization or institutional memory is, however, hampered due to the uniqueness of the projects. Learning in a project-based industry is constrained by 'learning boundaries' and derivation of lessons learned and best practices is impeded.

Profile
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with a masters degree (or finishing their masters degree on short notice) in industrial design, building engineering, civil engineering or a related field of expertise. Experience or personal interest in the health care sector is considered a plus. Candidates are expected to finish the research project with a PhD thesis and disseminate the results through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences. We offer a fulltime job for a period of 4 years, with a go/no-go assessment at the end of the first year.

Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 2500 - 3000
Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month 2612
Employment basis: Temporary for specified period
Duration of the contract: 4 years
Maximum hours per week: 38

The salary scale, starts at of 2042,- gross per month for the first year, and will lead up to 2612,- in the fourth year based upon the job profile for PhD researcher (in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities). In addition, the University of Twente offers attractive fringe benefits.
