[Sweden] 9 PhD Positions in Various Program at Lund University

Job openings-PhD positions

A number of PhD fellowships connected to projects within the LUCCI framework are now available. Detailed descriptions of the positions and projects can be found by clicking on the links in the list below. More information is also available via the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering "Vacant positions" web pages.
Please note that the application deadline varies slightly between the various positions!

PA 2008/3978: PhD studentship in Geobiosphere Science with specialization in Physical Geography and Ecosystems Analysis
Project leader: Torben Christensen
The project will take a broad view on feedbacks from arctic and subarctic environments in relation to global change, involving both the collection of data in the field and modelling exercises.
Application deadline: January 8, 2009.

PA 2008/4215: PhD studentship in Ecology with specialization in Microbial Ecology
Project leader: Erland Bååth
This project aims at coupling direct measures of bacterial and fungal growth and activity, and their dependence and adaptation to temperature and other environmental variables, to soil respiration.
Application deadline: January 15, 2009.

PA 2008/4273: PhD studentship in Geobiosphere Science with specialization in Physical Geography and Ecosystems Analysis
Project leader: Anders Lindroth
This is a project to define and quantify the processes governing the exchange of methane (CH4) in a boreal forest at different spatial and temporal scales.
Application deadline: January 15, 2009.

PA 2008/4274: PhD studentship in Geobiosphere Science with specialization in Physical Geography and Ecosystems Analysis
Project leader: Anders Lindroth
The project aims at studying the effects of natural and anthropogenic disturbances on the exchange of greenhouse gases in boreal forests.
Application deadline: January 15, 2009.

PA 2008/4275: PhD studentship in Geobiosphere Science with specialization in Physical Geography and Ecosystems Analysis
Project leader: Almuth Arneth
The project aims to use ecosystem modelling to examine the anthropogenic influence on CO2 and CH4 concentrations and climate during the past 6000 years.
Application deadline: January 15, 2009.

PA 2008/4276: PhD studentship in Geobiosphere Science with specialization in Physical Geography and Ecosystems Analysis
Project leader: Martin Sykes
The project explores, in a number of different approaches, climate change impacts and adaptation in the subarctic through a case study of an area in the northern Swedish mountains.
Application deadline: January 15, 2009.

PA 2008/4277: PhD studentship in Geobiosphere Science with specialization in Quaternary Geology
Project leader: Raimund Muscheler
The aim of the project is to measure and interpret concentrations of the cosmogenic nuclide 10Be in the GRIP ice core from approximately 17,000 to 9,000 years before the present.
Application deadline: January 15, 2009.

PA 2008/4305: PhD studentship in Ecology with specialization in Microbial Ecology
Project leader: Håkan Wallander
The aim of the project is to estimate growth and biomass of ectomycorrhizal fungi in chronosequences in Västerbotten and Alaska.
Application deadline: January 15, 2009.

PA 2008/4477: PhD studentship in Physics with specialization in Aerosols-clouds-climate
Project leader: Erik Swietlicki
The overall research objective is to determine the relationships between the size distribution, hygroscopic and cloud-nucleating properties of aerosols and cloud microphysical structure in background European air masses.
Application deadline: January 16, 2009.
